Made in Utah

We are so proud to be a company born and raised in Utah.  While we started our operation in Provo, Utah, we have been based in Salt Lake City since early 2002.  While we have seen a lot of changes in our state, we have also seen a lot of changes in our gift company.  We opened our virtual doors in the fall of 2000 and we immediately did some good things and some things we definitely don’t do any more.

From the year 2000 — to now..

  1.  It was all about gift BASKETS.  That was the thing back then and we just went with it.  We know people still search the term “gift baskets” but we went off the rails with the decision to build gift crates.  So much so, that we are now building hundreds of crates every week.  Baskets schmaskets.  We still have a few around if you want one, but ask us about our crates and boxes and you’ll be happy you did.
  2.  We sourced as many items as we could locally from Provo to Salt Lake City to Park City to Logan and beyond.  We didn’t know how to find a wide variety of gourmet products elsewhere, so it was mostly by default.  Soon, we branched out and found dozens of brands outside of Utah to add to our line.  And here is what we learned, UTAH is as great a place to source gourmet foods as any other state out there.  In the last 18 years, Utah gourmet suppliers have become legendary.  We are so proud of our Utah suppliers and so impressed with the quality of gourmet items that come out of Utah, we will always be UTAH-centric.
  3. Because we set out to be Utah’s leading specialist in corporate gifts, we knew we would need to be a gift delivery company in addition to a gift making company.  As we started out, we set out in our own vehicles in those first years to hand deliver across the Wasatch Front.  While our delivery range has expanded and our fleet of drivers has increased, our hometown feel of having a gift delivered to the door has not changed.
  4.  We thought we knew what businesses wanted, but we also listened and learned quickly to find out what we didn’t know.  One of our first clients asked us to come up with a chips & salsa gift basket.  We went right to work and designed our gourmet chips and salsa gift that stood out from anything they had seen.  It included a ceramic plate and bowl along with made-in-Utah tortilla chips and our best-selling salsa made right here as well.  This gift put us on the map and while others have copied it, we still sell more chips and gourmet salsa gifts than we ever thought possible.  This specific gift is proof that you #1 – listen to your customers, #2 – act quickly and #3 – “you don’t fix that which isn’t broken”.

Some demands we have paid attention to along the way:  buy and source local, keep as much revenue in Utah as possible, represent Utah well, keep it fresh and be unique.   We love those mottos and we are happy to keep doing what the people are asking for.   UTAH is our home.  Utahn’s are our people.   Utah businesses made us who we are.  We wouldn’t have it any other way.
